Civil & Corporate LitigationOur firm has a long and storied history of litigation in the state and federal courts throughout Rhode Island. Beginning in the early 1990s and continuing through the present, the firm has successfully defended many individuals and businesses. Our litigation practice includes complex commercial, contract and real estate matters. We work closely with our clients from initial fact-finding throughout the entire litigation process. Our attorneys carefully consider every option to amicably settle all disputes, including mediation and arbitration, in order to save time, expense and to preserve the relationship between the parties. Our attorneys have experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and we work closely with our clients to ensure that they receive a fair and prompt resolution of their litigation matters.
Commercial Transactions & Banking LawOur firm is privileged to represent a number of regional and community banks in their lending transactions, workouts, foreclosures and litigation. In addition, our attorneys routinely represent individuals and businesses in a variety of commercial transactions, including product borrowing and lending, guaranties, secured transactions, collections and letters of credit. Our Banking and Commercial Transactions group is qualified and well-positioned to help borrowers and lenders meet their needs, opportunities and challenges in an ever-more challenging and entrepreneurial environment.
Insolvency Law & Creditors' RightsOur firm specializes in representing clients who have creditor's rights issues. We provide our clients a complete menu of cost-effective legal consulting options starting with State and Federal laws, designing loan security interest guidelines, and preparing loan documentation. Our attorneys provide on-going, in-depth consultation that frequently goes beyond providing legal advice. We routinely provide help in areas such as securing the client's interest in the transaction, contract negotiations, and the perfection of the security interests. Depending on the wishes of our clients and their circumstances, we will initiate mortgage foreclosures, receivership proceedings, breach of contract actions or representation in U.S. Bankruptcy Court to insure our client's interests are safeguarded. Our attorney's and professional staff employ effective and creative measures to collect once we receive a favorable judgment as we are experienced in dealing with debtors who seek bankruptcy and/or receivership.
Real Estate LawOur firm has the knowledge and experience to represent our clients in acquisition, financing and leasing transactions. We represent both buyers and sellers in residential, commercial and industrial real estate transactions. Our attorneys have over 20-years of experience representing clients in land development, including obtaining permits, variances, rezoning and approvals from state and local agencies. We have developed relationships with area specialists who assist our real estate clients in a variety of ways, particularly in the sale and purchase of real property. Our attorneys and professional staff work hard to provide effective legal representation of both buyers and sellers in the sale of commercial and industrial real estate.
